Auricular Acupuncture is the stimulation of specified locations on the surface of the ear with five small, sterilized, disposable stainless steel needles that alter and improve bodily function. Offered by H3's psychotherapist, Katherine Baetz, every Thursday from 2PM to 5PM.
In traditional Chinese medicine (TCM), acupuncture is based on the theory that your health depends on the flow of Qi (energy) in your body. This energy travels along invisible pathways, known as meridians, that are found throughout the body which are connected to organs of the body as well as a wider range of functions such as emotional, psychological and spiritual states of being. By placing needles in certain points along these meridians, an acupuncturist can manipulate the Qi to help restore its balance so that it flows freely and smoothly round the body to help maintain and restore health. Physically, auricular acupuncture relaxes and reduces stress, decreases pain, increases energy and immunity, and normalizes sleep. Mentally and emotionally it helps you feel clear, alert, calm, and focused.
Katherine Baetz is a psychotherapist at H3 who also is certified to do auricular acupuncture. Katherine offers her services every Thursday from 2PM to 5PM at the St. Clair Shores office. Sessions are 30 minutes for $35.
"Life is a journey that is ever changing and can take on many different facets. What we let go of and what we hang on to brings us to where we are. It is an honor to be welcomed on the journey of self-discovery and transformation. We do not have to walk life’s path alone."
